About the festival
This festival commemorates the historical fact that Sejong the Great stayed at Chojeng Haenggung for 120 days, treating his thirst and eye ailments with Chojeng mineral water, achieving great accomplishments such as national governance and the creation of Hangul, thereby re-evaluating the value of Sejong the Great and Chojeng mineral water, and widely promoting the historical and scientific excellence of Chojeng mineral water, one of the three rare mineral waters in the world. Through this, it aims to spread the value of Cheongju's clean natural environment and health resources both domestically and internationally, laying the foundation for a leap to a global cultural tourism festival, and establishing itself as a representative brand festival of Cheongju based on the achievements of the festival that has continued for the past 20 years.
