About the festival
The Saenggeo Jincheon Cultural Festival has been held since 1979 and is a local cultural festival representing Jincheon-gun in Chungcheongbuk-do, which has a long tradition. The festival takes place every autumn in the area around Baekgokcheon Riverside in Jincheon-eup. It inherits the local culture of Jincheon-gun.·It aims to improve the quality of life for residents and visitors by providing opportunities to develop and enjoy cultural arts, while also focusing on community harmony and revitalizing the local economy based on the region's history and culture. During the festival period, various programs such as folk art competitions, local food contests, and wrestling competitions are held, along with performances, exhibitions, experiences, and food markets, creating content that can be enjoyed by diverse generations. Jincheon-gun has historically been a region with vast fields and irrigation facilities, leading to advanced farming techniques and abundant agricultural products, and the festival celebrates local agriculture.·It also serves as a venue for the sale of local specialties. It is the largest cultural event in Jincheon County, attracting tens of thousands of visitors each year.
