About the festival
The Goseong Myeongtae Festival is a regional cultural festival centered around Myeongtae, a historical and cultural asset of Goseong-gun in Gangwon Province, discovering the taste, style, and romance of the sea in a new way. In 2026, it will be held in the area of Geojin-eup 11-ri beach under the themes of 'Discovery of Myeongtae', 'Discovery of Residents', and 'Discovery of the Sea'. It will showcase programs such as Myeongtae Gourmet Zone, Self-Cooking Zone, Chef Live Cooking, Myeongtae Memory Story, Goseong Language, Myeongtae Chainsaw Art for warding off evil, and Myeongtae Playground, where visitors can eat, see, and enjoy Myeongtae. There will also be a stage created by local residents and various participants, featuring resident performances, invited singer performances, military personnel and youth talent shows, and broadcasts from Myeongtae Village. Additionally, experiences and performances that highlight the charm of Geojin beach, such as Myeongtae Beach Bar, Sea Playground, Bare-Handed Fishing, Navy Ship Tours, AI Music Festival, and Silence DJ, will be available. A variety of programs will be operated centered around the Mural Stage, Main Stage, and Sea Stage, and participation programs linking the festival site with the Geojin area, such as Baekseom Sea Bus and Stamp Tour, will also be arranged.
