About the festival
The wild ginseng grown in Hamyang, cultivated in soil with over 500m of germanium, is known for its excellent quality due to its dense and firm tissue and high saponin content, and is referred to as premium wild ginseng. The first wild ginseng traceability system in the country allows consumers to accurately know production information, and through the activities of wild ginseng guardians, continuous quality management is maintained to preserve its differentiated characteristics as premium wild ginseng. The festival program utilizes content that can inherit the history and culture of wild ginseng and ginseng diggers, shedding new light on the meaning and historical value of wild ginseng, while expanding the market for local agricultural specialties by utilizing the image of clean forest products, the representative brand of the county. It aims to revitalize the local economy through programs linked with forest, culture, and tourism resources, and is held annually around September to October.
