About the festival
As the cool breeze tightens our collars, leaving behind the golden waves of the fields, the Yeonsan Jujube Cultural Festival is held in the town of Yeonsan, where the spirit of Gye Baek lives on. The jujubes from Yeonsan gained fame when they began to be sold after being sourced from Yeonsan-myeon and the nearby Beolgok-myeon, Yangchon-myeon, and the area of Unju-myeon in Jeonrabuk-do. Thanks to the efforts of Yeonsan jujube merchants who aim to sell particularly good jujubes to consumers who visit Yeonsan to purchase them, the image of high-quality jujubes has become widely known, establishing Yeonsan as a distribution center where over 40% of the jujubes sold nationwide are sourced, and it is advancing as the largest production area in the country in line with its reputation. During the Jujube Cultural Festival, Yeonsan offers not only the opportunity to purchase jujubes at a low price but also a variety of events to enjoy, promoting the excellence of Yeonsan jujubes and its fame as a jujube distribution center.
