About the festival
Art Gwangju is the largest international art fair in Honam that showcases the trends of contemporary art and the art market both domestically and internationally. Domestic and international galleries, artists, and collectors gather in one place to present their works and discover new artistic values while exchanging ideas, Gwangju·serves as a cultural and artistic exchange hub connecting Jeonnam and the global art world. It is hosted by Jeonnam Gwangju Tonghap Teukbyeol-si and organized by the Gwangju Cultural Foundation and Art Gwangju. Art Gwangju 26 features participation from about 110 galleries from 12 countries including the Middle East and Europe,·and painting.·Sculpture·Showcasing various trends in contemporary art such as media art. In particular, through the special exhibitions 'Heroes of Contemporary Art', 'Propose', 'Rising Star', and 'Spectrum', carefully selected artworks and local collectors' collections are presented, Gwangju·Broadly introducing works by young artists from Jeollanam-do and expanding the exhibition value of the art fair. Art Gwangju goes beyond a marketplace for buying and selling artworks, serving as a venue for discovering the value of art and new creations, facilitating cultural and artistic exchanges between the region and the world.·We aim to broaden the base of art in Jeonnam and establish a foundation for sustainable growth.
