About the festival
The Gyeongnam Goseong Dinosaur World Expo is a dinosaur-themed festival held at the Danghangpo Tourist Site in Hoehwa-myeon, Goseong-gun, Gyeongsangnam-do, South Korea. Goseong-gun is widely known as one of the world's three major dinosaur footprint fossil sites, and the festival has been held since 2006 to promote the value of large and small dinosaur fossils discovered in various regions and to boost the tourism industry. The event venue, Danghangpo Tourist Site, consists of a dinosaur theme zone and an Admiral Yi Sun-sin theme zone, and features outdoor themed parks such as coastal walking paths, hiking trails, and dinosaur footprint exploration trails. The event is hosted by Goseong-gun, Gyeongsangnam-do, and as of 2026, the Goseong Cultural Tourism Foundation is operating the Gyeongnam Goseong Dinosaur World Expo. The 2026 expo marks the 10th edition and the 20th anniversary, with the theme 'Exciting Adventures with Dinosaurs.' Additionally, each event features various exhibitions, experience programs, and performances, establishing itself as a representative dinosaur-themed festival in the country.
