About the festival
On May 5, 1989, three civic organizations began the Wonju Children's Day Grand Festival independently. In 2026, the Wonju YMCA, the Gangwon Provincial Arts Council Wonju Branch, the Wonju Childcare Association, the Wonju Private Kindergarten Association, the Wonju Youth Sexual Culture Center, and the Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province Childcare Support Center are forming the Wonju Children's Day Grand Festival Promotion Committee to prepare events for children. The Wonju Children's Day Grand Festival is held annually with themes of life, peace, and dreams, and the 2026 festival will focus on the theme of dreams.
