About the festival
The Dasan Jeong Yak-yong Cultural Festival is an event held in Namyangju-si, Gyeonggi-do, focusing on the life, thoughts, and practical learning spirit of Jeong Yak-yong. The 40th Dasan Jeong Yak-yong Cultural Festival will take place from October 17 to 18, 2026, at the Jeong Yak-yong Historic Site and Dasansaengtae Park. Major programs include flower offerings, a opening ceremony, a special fashion show and commemorative concert for the 40th anniversary, a Jeong Yak-yong Robot Creation Contest, and a literature competition. On the 17th, a special fashion show by designer Lee Sang-bong is scheduled, and on the 18th, a commemorative concert featuring Eoks, Park Hye-won, and Urban Zakapa will take place. Experience programs include 'Yeoyudang Hunters', where participants complete missions to find treasures, 'Digital Detox Exile Experience', 'Jeong Yak-yong Future Workshop' where participants engage with artificial intelligence and robots, and traditional games and Hanbok experiences. Additionally, busking performances and markets will be held at Dasansaengtae Park, making it a festival where visitors can enjoy Jeong Yak-yong's historical and cultural content along with performances and experiences.
