About the festival
The 14th Dokil Village Beer Festival is a representative cultural tourism festival of Namhae-gun, held based on the exotic scenery of Dokil Village and the historical significance of the Korean workers in Germany. Dokil Village is a settlement established by overseas Koreans who worked as miners and nurses in Germany during the 1960s and 1970s, preserving the history of the lives of these workers and the exchanges between Korea and Germany. The festival operates various German-style foods, beers, music, parades, and experience programs, inspired by Oktoberfest, Germany's representative beer festival. In particular, it connects the history of the Korean workers in Germany and the identity of Dokil Village with the festival content, promoting the historical and cultural value of the region and evolving into a global cultural tourism festival that can be enjoyed by domestic and international tourists.
