About the festival
The Hongcheon River Ice Fishing Festival, held every January in Hongcheon, Gangwon Province, features ice fishing that can be easily enjoyed by people of all ages, as well as barehanded trout catching. There is also a family indoor fishing area that is very popular with children, where they can see and fish at the same time. Experience the thrill of catching the most delicious ginseng trout weighing 800g and special large ginseng trout, along with various activities such as an ice sledding area, traditional thatched house scenery that evokes rural charm, a winter folk playground, and local restaurants offering a variety of food and entertainment.
