About the festival
This is a cultural and arts festival enjoyed together with citizens, inheriting and developing the achievements and spirit of Seongho Lee Ik, who spent his life in Cheomseongchon (currently Ildong) and expanded practical and effective scholarship through the spirit of seeking truth from facts. Starting with the traditional Confucian worship ceremony held at the shrine of Lee Ik, the festival offers a variety of attractions and activities, including local cultural heritage of Ansan (Dunbaemi Play, Wari Folk Play), various traditional cultural performances, folk game experiences, Samduhoe experiences imbued with practical learning spirit, and unique traditional experience booths of the region. The Seongho Drawing Contest and the Practical Learning Golden Bell, which involve children and youth, demonstrate that this festival can be enjoyed by people of all ages. Additionally, through the Seongho Thought panel exhibition and special lectures linked to the Seongho Museum, participants can feel the humanitarian spirit of Seongho Lee Ik, the spirit of seeking truth from facts, and the history, culture, and arts of Ansan.
