About the festival
The Mato Arts Festival is a representative cultural arts festival of Anjeong-ri, meaning 'an arts festival held on the last Saturday of the month.' It operates as a themed festival reflecting the characteristics of the season and region by selecting a theme for each session in June and October. In October, the theme is 'Broadway in Anjeong-ri,' featuring performances centered around musicals and unique concept experience and event programs, transforming the Anjeong-ri Arts Plaza into a single musical stage. The festival includes various performance programs, such as themed performances featuring professional musical actors and ensembles, a brass quintet from the US 8th Army band, and performances by local artists. Additionally, it offers a stamp tour experience program where spectators can become Broadway actors, unique concept experiences and events, and a red carpet photo zone, providing participatory cultural arts content for citizens, foreigners, and visitors to enjoy together. In particular, through the performance of the US 8th Army band reflecting the characteristics of the Anjeong-ri area, it creates opportunities for cultural exchange between the local community and the US military, offering a festival experience that encompasses generations and nationalities through diverse cultural arts content.
