About the festival
The Muang Hwangto Tidal Flat Festival is an ecological experience festival held at the Muang Tidal Flat, a UNESCO World Heritage site, under the theme 'The Tidal Flat is Alive.' It aims to widely promote the ecological value of the Muang Tidal Flat, the first wetland protection area in South Korea, and the excellence of the Hwangto tidal flat, conveying the meaning of coexistence between nature and humanity through experiences and cultural events. The festival site, Muang Hwangto Tidal Flat Land, features the Muang Tidal Flat Exploration Bridge, the longest 1.5 km marine pedestrian bridge in the country, and ecological experience facilities, making it an ecological tourism destination where visitors can closely experience the tidal flat and the sea. During the festival period, various experiences and cultural events, exhibitions, and performances themed around tidal flat ecology will be operated, with diverse content that families can participate in together. The Muang Hwangto Tidal Flat Festival is a festival that promotes sustainable ecological tourism and revitalization of local culture by linking the conservation value of the World Heritage Muang Tidal Flat with the region's ecological and cultural resources.
