About the festival
The 2026 Gijang-eupseong Festival is a cultural tourism experiential festival held from October 9 to 11 on the lawn in front of the Gijang Modern History Museum and its vicinity. It is an event that operates performances, reading, movies, experiences, and commentary programs against the backdrop of local historical and cultural spaces such as Gijang Fortress and the Modern History Museum. Major programs include Voice Music Play Bar, Book Concert, Neighborhood Beef, Traditional Performing Arts, Challenge Dance, Pungryupa-dong Performance, Reading Club, and Pet Reels Film Festival. At the Gijang Modern History Museum, experiences such as Popup Workshop, Slow and Rest Healing Experience, and Gijang Fortress Walking Docent Tour are offered. During the event period, ongoing experiential programs such as Gijang Barrier Research Institute, Pet Adoption Center, Voice Goods Shop, and Voice Play Zone will also be available. The Gijang-eupseong Festival is designed as a festival that allows visitors to participate directly and experience programs, not limited to a viewing method centered on performances and exhibitions of local historical and cultural resources.
