About the festival
The Dae-gu Contemporary Art Festival inherits the spirit of the 'Dae-gu Contemporary Art Festival' from the 1970s, where young artists challenged the rigidity of the established art world and conducted various art experiments. It is a contemporary art festival held in the area of Gangjeong. Gangjeong, the venue for the Dae-gu Contemporary Art Festival, is significant as it was the site of Korea's first collective event with over 200 participating artists during the '3rd Dae-gu Contemporary Art Festival' in 1977.
