About the festival

The Korea Buddhist Culture Expo is a representative MICE industry that revitalizes the art industry centered around the Buddhist and traditional culture infrastructure of Daegu and Gyeongbuk, which is the center of the brilliant Buddhist culture of the Silla era and a mecca of traditional culture. It contributes to the promotion of domestic traditional culture and arts centered on the Buddhist resources and cultural arts of Daegu and Gyeongbuk, develops the Buddhist cultural tourism resources of Daegu and Gyeongbuk into sustainable tourism content, and provides opportunities for cultural and artistic healing for the citizens of Daegu and Gyeongbuk. At the 2026 Korea Buddhist Culture Expo, a special exhibition titled 'Urban Offering Room' featuring Korean temple food culture and the spirit of practice will be presented, along with nine genres of Buddhist and traditional cultural products including architecture, crafts, national master group exhibition, cultural industry & IT, Buddhist art exhibition, ritual practices, food, Uljugun Craft Association, and tea, showcasing a variety of content that encompasses traditional arts based on Korean traditional philosophy to modern art, covering the entirety of traditional and Buddhist arts. This year, the 2026 Korea Buddhist Culture Expo will unfold diverse Buddhist cultural content under the theme 'Form is Emptiness, Emptiness is Form, A Game of Emptiness that Everyone Loves', allowing for enjoyable experiences of the Buddhist concept of emptiness.
