About the festival
This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Wonju Rooftop Film Festival, a non-competitive free film festival organized by the youth of Wonju to provide opportunities for screening and viewing independent art films in Wonju, where such opportunities are scarce. It will take place on rooftops in Wonju during summer nights. Additionally, with the aim of fostering local film communities and workforce, the opening film 'Gangwon Short Film Selection' will showcase works by local directors and introduce their films. Furthermore, the selection and review of screening candidates, planning of side programs, selection of venues, and booth operations will be organized around audience (citizen) activists, embodying the meaning of 'community cinema' where citizens are at the center.
