About the festival
The Uruk Cultural Festival, which started in 1971 as the Uruk Arts Festival, is a representative cultural and arts festival where one can experience the culture and arts of Chungju while inheriting the artistic spirit of the musician Uruk. The 54th Uruk Cultural Festival will be held under the slogan 'Embracing Tomorrow's Chungju in the Echoes of Uruk' and will operate with a newtro concept that modernly reinterprets the culture and emotions of the 80s and 90s. Visitors can enjoy performances and art competitions that blend traditional and contemporary arts, various exhibitions, and experiential programs, as well as participation programs involving youth, young adults, citizens, and local artists. At the festival venue, attendees can meet and directly experience the creations of local youth and artists, and there will also be a market where they can enjoy Chungju's agricultural and specialty products as well as local Meokgeo-ri. The 54th Uruk Cultural Festival, where the culture of the past and the art of the present come together, will be held from October 8 to 11, 2026, at Tangeum Park and the Chungju Cultural Center.
