About the festival
The Wonju Yongsu Valley Autumn Flower Festival is a community-led autumn flower festival held in the Yongsu Valley area of Seogok-ri, Panbu-myeon, Wonju-si, Gangwon Province. The 5th Wonju Yongsu Valley Autumn Flower Festival in 2026 is scheduled to take place from September 23 to October 5 for 13 days. The festival site features flower beds created and maintained by local residents, showcasing a variety of autumn flowers suitable for the season. Major flowers include zinnias, sunflowers, cosmos, yellow cosmos, willow herb, globe amaranth, and asters, with flower beds arranged in different sections based on flower types and colors. During the festival period, programs focused on flower bed viewing and photography will be operated, and there will also be spaces for local residents to sell food and agricultural specialties. The Yongsu Valley Autumn Flower Festival is a seasonal festival that continues the theme of flowers in the autumn, following the spring poppy festival held in Yongsu Valley. It is a community-led festival where local residents participate directly in everything from flower bed creation to festival management and environmental care, utilizing the region's natural environment and rural landscape as tourism content. It is one of Yongsu Valley's representative seasonal festivals, providing seasonal flower tourism centered around poppies in spring and various autumn flowers in fall.
