About the festival
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Jeonnam Gwangju Metropolitan City, along with Yeosu City, will host the '2026 Month of Culture' event from October 16 (Friday) to 19 (Monday) for four days at Haeyang Park and in the Yeosu area. The 'Month of Culture' event, which has been held since 1990, is a cultural festival designed to promote the unique culture and charm of the region, allowing citizens to enjoy cultural arts together. This year, under the theme 'Yeosu Night Sea, A Voyage of Romance and Culture', the event will create a cultural space where citizens and visitors can enjoy and empathize with the beauty of the sea and islands, enriched by Yeosu's history and art. A variety of performances, exhibitions, experiences, and lifestyle culture programs, including special performances by Park Hye-won and Jiolpak, will showcase the charm of Yeosu. This fall, a four-day event will take place in Yeosu, marking the beginning of a special voyage to experience the romance of the night sea and the impact of cultural arts.
