About the festival

The Bobae Island Canola Flower Festival is a spring flower tourism festival held in Gwanmae-do, Jindo-gun, Jeonnam Gwangju Unified Special City. It takes place around a canola flower field of approximately 75,000 pyeong in the Gwanmae-do area and is an experiential tourism event utilizing the natural scenery and tourism resources of Gwanmae-do. During the festival period, various performance events are held, including an opening ceremony, performances by invited singers, the Jindo County Folk Arts Troupe, and traditional music performances. Additionally, the festival features tourist participation programs such as canola flower mini train experiences, canola flower face painting, and traditional games. There are also linked events such as the Canola Flower Road Community Walking Competition and the Gwanmae-do Trail Forest Interpretation Program. This tourism event includes photo zones and rest areas created from the Gwanmae-do ferry terminal to the canola flower field, and it is a community participation festival with local residents participating in the sale of specialty products.
