About the festival

To celebrate the 580th anniversary of the proclamation of Hunminjeongeum, the "2026 Hangeul Day Cultural Event" will be held from October 9 to 10, 2026, at the Sejongdae Royal Tomb area. This event is a cultural celebration designed to promote the achievements of King Sejong and the value of Hangeul, while reflecting on the significance of Hangeul Day. Special performances such as 'Catch! Tini Ping' for children and families, as well as communication performances featuring 'Common Siblings', will be offered, along with various experiential and exhibition programs centered around Hangeul. Additionally, a 'Rest Area Small Concert' showcasing diverse cultural and artistic performances will take place throughout the Sejongdae Royal Tomb. Alongside this, programs will be available that allow participants to engage with the history and value of Hangeul through experiential activities themed around Hangeul and King Sejong. This event utilizes the historical and cultural space of the Sejongdae Royal Tomb to host a variety of programs including performances, experiences, and exhibitions, providing an opportunity to culturally engage with the significance of King Sejong and Hangeul in celebration of Hangeul Day.
