About the festival
Dongmyeong Coffee Walk is a coffee culture festival held throughout Dongmyeong-dong, Dong-gu, Gwangju, Jeonnam Special Metropolitan City. Launched in 2021, the event celebrates its sixth edition in 2026. Local cafes and brands take part, offering visitors coffee, desserts, and cultural programs. The festival goes beyond simple tastings, combining performances, hands-on activities, exhibitions, and markets centered on coffee to create a cultural journey in the heart of the city. Main programs include the “Just Award,” featuring coffee tastings and preference voting; “No Run, Just Walk,” combining cafe tours with visits to local attractions; “Dongmyeong Marche,” with local merchants and artists; “Coffee Walk,” where visitors can discover coffee that suits their tastes through themed content; “Sound Walk,” following stories of Dongmyeong-dong; and “Brand Walk,” featuring local brand storytelling and special exhibitions. The festival runs for two days, from October 31 to November 1, 2026, centered around the ACC auxiliary parking lot and the Dongmyeong-dong cafe district. Connecting local businesses and culture through coffee, it is a leading cultural tourism festival in Gwangju that offers visitors an urban travel experience.
