About the festival
Our ancestors used to create snow tunnels every winter, connecting houses with ropes, and when the cold river winds caused the streams to freeze early, they would hammer large rocks in the river to catch winter fish for meals. This place transforms the hardships of our ancestors' lives into a festival, celebrating a winter story with snow, ice, and trout. The Pyeongchang Trout Festival takes place every year from late December to late January. Visitors can enjoy the thrill of trout fishing while watching fish swimming in the clear waters of the Odaechun River, along with various winter experience events, truly embracing the joy of a winter festival.
