About the festival
On a mysterious night in October, very special guests come to Damyang, which never sleeps. The Damyang Gukgayu-san Night Tour unfolds the narratives of historical and cultural figures born in Damyang, centered around Gwanbangjerim, Gaeksa-ri Seokdanggan, and Namsan-ri Five-story Stone Pagoda. The Jeojatgeo-ri performance conveys the story of Seongbu Temple, which built Gwanbangjerim, with love and laughter, while the Madangchanggeuk resonates the heart with the music of the national singer of Joseon, Ilchi, born in Damyang. A talk concert flows with nighttime stories and piano melodies under Seokdanggan, and family activities and performances fulfilling the mission of Jeon Woo-chi, who honed his skills at Yeondong Temple, fill the scene with dynamic storytelling. Additionally, a profound humanities lecture reflecting on the commonalities of Damyang's singer-songwriter Kimjeong-ho's secret sound, Seongi Fortress, and the celestial realm is added. On the tranquil night of Damyang, layered with the historical and cultural essence of Damyang, one can experience the unique atmosphere of Damyang on a mysterious night in October.
