About the festival
On a cool autumn night, gentle lights fall over the waterway of Pohang Canal. The Falling Flower performance is our traditional firework display that slowly burns powdered charcoal wrapped in Hanji paper. Without using gunpowder, it does not explode like firecrackers, and the lights gradually spread along the falling flower strings that cross the canal. The sight of two 75-meter falling flower strings installed diagonally illuminating the night and surface of the canal is the biggest attraction of this festival. In the Pohang Canal, which was once cut off and revived through the efforts of citizens, the 'fire' of the industrial city of Pohang and the symbol of restoration, 'water,' meet in one scene. This festival, filled only with falling flowers and music without official ceremonies or singer performances, is a space solely for citizens and visitors.
