About the festival

The 205 Chilgok Cultural Street Festa is a street festival held along First Street near Waegwan Station in Chilgok-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do. “205” represents the chance to enjoy a restorative escape by the Nakdong River, surrounded by pristine natural scenery, just 20 minutes by train from Daegu and a 5-minute walk from Waegwan Station. It also symbolizes a street festival where everyone can drop by without hesitation and enjoy a lively mix of culture and festivities. During the festival, parades, performances, and exhibitions take place throughout the streets in front of Waegwan Station, alongside a variety of hands-on programs offering visitors plenty to enjoy. Local artists, residents, merchants’ associations, and community organizations all take part in planning and running the festival, making it a community-led street festival where locals and visitors come together.
