About the festival
The 2026 Suwon Special City Companion Animal Festival, hosted by Suwon City and organized by the KCMC Cultural Center, was held as part of the vision to become the nation’s first “Companion Animal Education City.” It is an educational festival where residents and their companion animals can learn and have fun together. It will take place on October 24 at Gwanggyo Central Park in Suwon. Visitors can attend a free talk concert on proper dog walking by Lee Chan-jong, a trainer from TV’s Animal Farm. Other main events include a companion animal grooming seminar, a Dog Olympics, and a dog fashion show. The program also features one-on-one animal health consultations with veterinarians, behavior guidance consultations with trainers, pet tarot readings, pet caricatures, and a flea market. A variety of prizes and other items for households with companion animals will also be offered, including awards and prize drawings.
