The Goyang City Agricultural Technology Center will hold the 13th Goyang City Urban Agriculture Festival from the 31st through November 1. The festival was planned to let visitors experience the cycle of urban agriculture—from sprouting in the soil to growing in the city—and the value of a farming community created together with Goyang residents. One way to make the most of the festival is to take part in the “growth-based hands-on programs.” Visitors can pick up an urban farmer certification card for the quest stamps at the event headquarters, then experience the four stages of sowing, tending, harvesting, and making use of the crops in sequence, following the year-long cycle of farming while collecting stamps. Submit the completed pamphlet to the headquarters to receive a commemorative gift as a completion reward. A variety of on-site activities are also available, where visitors can touch soil, flowers, and herbs in the city to relieve stress and promote physical and mental well-being. Applications are also being accepted for a preview group to take part in the healing agriculture experience program. Applications are open through the 28th, and participation is completely free. The venue will feature four activity zones and a farm market. The Urban Agriculture Zone will offer seed-bomb making, green onion planting, an insect specimen workshop, and rhinoceros beetle activities. The Healing Agriculture Zone will offer eco-friendly cinnamon water making, herbal foot-bath tea bag making, and rose postcard making. The Future Agriculture Zone will feature a mobile plant clinic, future insect farming, and urban agriculture, while the Agricultural Culture Zone will offer a Kawaji rice meal experience, farm machinery displays, and straw-rope wreath making. The farm market will sell eco-friendly produce, flowers, and succulents.
