About the festival
The Yangyang Songi Salmon Festival is a representative autumn festival where the mysteries of ecology and the pleasures of gourmet food meet in the pristine nature of Yangyang, harmonizing mountains, the sea, and the Namdaecheon River. It is designed to allow visitors to experience nature in a friendly and fun way through various unique experiences, going beyond simply tasting the Songi mushrooms from deep in the mountains and the salmon returning to the Namdaecheon River. The festival's main programs include 'Songi Treasure Hunt' where participants search for Songi mushrooms in a pine forest, and 'Salmon Hand Catching' where visitors can catch vigorous salmon with their bare hands, providing an exhilarating experience unique to Yangyang. Additionally, there are diverse contents such as the 'Yangyang Salmon Ecological Tour' learning about the return journey with a docent, the 'Songi and Salmon Cooking Show' where chefs showcase their cooking right in front of you, and 'Songi Liquor Making' where participants can make their own liquor, ensuring that both children and adults can enjoy different pleasures. There are also plenty of participatory events and local content available. The festival adds fun with activities like 'Expedition and Salmon Egg Gacha Zone' where participants complete missions to receive gifts, 'Stamp Tour' completing a poster with six stamps, 'Custom T-Shirt Making' available with a receipt, and 'Snack Collage Making' for children. Furthermore, through local pop-up stores and direct sales of specialty products, visitors can find excellent local specialties at reasonable prices starting from 1,000 won at the 'Songido-Temple Auction Show'. The rest area within the event venue combines with a fresh food market, operating as a relaxation space where visitors can enjoy local dining from 'Yangyang is Slowly on the Table' under the shade of art shades during the day, feeling the clear river breeze, and at night, enjoying the emotional night view created by light tanks.
