About the festival
Chuncheon Mime Festival is a representative performing arts festival of Korea that connects the city, art, and citizens through the art of mime, which conveys emotions through body movements. Held every year in the last week of May in Chuncheon, the city of water and spring, it is recognized as one of the top three mime festivals in the world alongside the Mimosa Mime Festival in France and the London Mime Festival in the UK, enhancing its international status. The festival creates a new genre called 'Chuncheon + Mime + Festival' by merging the emotions and hearts of the city and its citizens through silent movements and various genres such as water, fire, flowers, light, and video, and it is a 'Nanjang' festival that unravels the desires of the city and the era through artistic gestures. The 2026 Chuncheon Mime Festival will be held from May 24 to May 31 under the theme 'Body Landscape', featuring a variety of body landscapes across Chuncheon for eight days, starting with the opening Nanjang Ah! Water Nanjang, followed by theater performances, walking mime, artistic Nanjang X, and an all-night Nanjang Goblin Nanjang.
