About the festival
The Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province hosts the 2026 Pyeongchang Daegwanryeong Music Festival (Artistic Director Yang Seong-won), which will be held from July 23 (Thursday) to August 2 (Sunday) for 11 days at the Alpensia Concert Hall and the Daegwanryeong Outdoor Performance Hall (Music Tent) in Pyeongchang-gun, as well as throughout the Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province. This year, under the theme 'Legacy and Innovation', it aims to showcase the works of composers accumulated over hundreds of years, which continue to breathe life and serve as the foundation for new creations, while also introducing many new musicians and new works, connecting the entire performance as a narrative and journey, providing the audience with an opportunity to experience the great flow through music. There will be 19 sessions of the 'Chamber Music Mentorship Program', 10 sessions of 'Masterclass', and 5 sessions of 'Special Lectures', among others.
