About the festival
The Jeongnamjin Jangheung Water Festival is a representative summer festival of South Korea, designated as an honorary cultural tourism festival by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in 2026 and selected as a preliminary global festival. Based on the clean water resources of the Tamjin River and Jangheung Dam, it showcases diverse content themed around 'water' and is preparing to leap into a global festival enjoyed by people from around the world. The festival's signature program, the Water Splash Parade, is a special content unique to Jangheung where anyone, regardless of age or gender, can participate, get splashed with water, and enjoy together. Alongside this, there will be the largest water fight on land and catch the golden fish (giant eel), water activities, and other refreshing and dynamic experience programs. During the day, the festival adds vitality with water play and various experience programs, while at night, diverse performances such as K-POP concerts and Jangheung Water Beat continue the festival's excitement, offering a festival filled with attractions from morning to night. Additionally, the Papillon zip experience program and Jangheung camping stay combine Jangheung's nature, food, and tourism content to provide visitors with special summer memories. The Jeongnamjin Jangheung Water Festival, where everyone comes together beyond generations, regions, and nationalities, continues to grow as a global festival representing South Korea, allowing participants to immerse themselves in exciting joy from morning to night, escaping the midsummer heat and daily life.
