About the festival
Launched in 1998 under the name 'Independent Arts Festival' in Daehangno, the Seoul Fringe Festival is an annual summer festival that gathers various artistic experiments that cannot be described by a single genre, including theater, dance, music, performance, video, visual arts, and exhibitions. It does not conduct evaluations of artists or assessments of works. Believing that 'anyone can be an artist,' it opens opportunities for participation to everyone. Whether on stage or in a park, it supports and encourages expressing and attempting to tell stories in any space. Through the courage to reveal oneself, experiments that transcend genre boundaries, and the process of sharing responsibility and respect, we create true artistic freedom. This year, with the slogan 'Together We Are,' we aim to discover new ways of connection that we need now.
