About the festival

The 28th Jeongdong Cultural Festival hosted by Gyeonghyangsin-Gate will be held on October 16-17 in the Jeongdong area of Jung-gu, Seoul. The Jeongdong street, which connects Gyeonghyangsin-Gate, Seoulsirip Art Museum, and Deoksu-Palace, was the center of diplomacy, culture, and education during the Korean Empire, a space where long history and new culture coexist. This year's festival will present a new concept titled 'Neo-Jeongdong: Pan', reinterpreting the historical and traditional aspects of Jeongdong in a contemporary manner. Over the two days, there will be a street parade reinterpreting traditional performances and performances by contemporary artists based on traditional Korean music. Space design utilizing rice straw and F&B programs will also be prepared to transform the entire Jeongdong street into a new 'pan'.
