About the festival
*The festival information below is for the 2026 festival; information for the 2027 festival is being updated* The Cheolwon Hantan River Ice Trekking Festival is Cheolwon-gun’s signature winter festival, held against the beautiful snowy scenery of the Hantan River. It has been inducted into the Hall of Fame of the Korea Festival Content Awards and designated an outstanding festival by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism for 2026–2027. Linked to the Cheolwon Hantan River Waterway Trekking Course, the festival offers not only views of the river’s snowy landscape but also performances and winter activities throughout the festival at the main venue below Seungil Bridge. Events include the “Bare-Chested Run Against the Wind” competition.
