About the festival

The Seongbuk Book Festival is a representative joint reading culture festival of Seongbuk District created together by the Seongbuk District Library Network and local residents. In 2026, under the theme 'Library Network ON, Brightening Seongbuk', the stage will be expanded to the riverside of Seongbukcheon, unfolding more richly along the Baram Madang Bridge in front of the Seongbuk District Office and the waterway of Seongbukcheon. A total of 18 teams, including 13 networks of the Seongbuk District Library, local university departments of library and information science, and related reading culture organizations, will operate experience booths filled with their unique colors, and in the outdoor library set up along Seongbukcheon, visitors can enjoy the leisure of a book under the autumn sunlight. At 3 PM, the riverside stage of Seongbukcheon will be enlivened by busking from Korea University ATP and Namgoong Matsuko of the Korea National University of Arts, and at 6:30 PM, the opening by the children's choir and congratulatory performances by the folk ensemble and Voice Toy will follow. Additionally, there will be a children's playground decorated with an air bounce and coloring wall, a Chamyeojeon-si exhibition by the Seongbuk District Library, a four-cut photo zone, and a stamp rally around the booths, along with food trucks, providing plenty of entertainment for the whole family. Admission is free, and as there is no separate parking lot, public transportation is recommended.
