About the festival
The Jeju Flatfish Festival, held every October since 2016, is the only event in the country focused on flatfish, promoting the consumption and excellence of Jeju farmed flatfish. Various dishes utilizing flatfish, such as sashimi, sushi, fish cakes, tteokbokki, and green onion pancakes, are offered at affordable prices, widely showcasing the taste and quality of Jeju flatfish. As a representative seafood festival of the Jeju region, members who farm flatfish sell dishes made from carefully raised flatfish at low prices, receiving praise from both locals and tourists. Additionally, various experiential events such as the Jeju Flatfish Singing Contest, youth dance competition, children's drawing contest, and barehanded flatfish and Doda-ri catching allow locals, tourists, and children to participate and enjoy a range of programs.
