About the festival
The 2026 Hanbok Culture Week is a nationwide cultural event held every year during the third week of October, centered around Hanbok Day on October 21, to widely promote the beauty and tradition of Hanbok and to spread the culture of wearing Hanbok in daily life. This year marks the ninth edition of the 2026 Hanbok Culture Week, which will take place from October 19 to 25 at over 410 venues nationwide, including the National Museum of Korea's Yeolrinma Hall. Organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, managed by the Korea Craft and Design Foundation, and sponsored by the Korea Arts Council, the event features a variety of programs to experience the diverse charms of Hanbok, including commemorative events, Hanbok fashion shows, exhibitions, performances, hands-on experiences, and academic forums. Through programs linked with various participating locations across the country, it provides opportunities for the public to see, wear, and enjoy Hanbok close to their daily lives, and aims to create a platform for traditional culture, Hanbok, to connect with contemporary culture and engage with the world through programs conducted at domestic and international venues.
