About the festival

The 2025 Hanbok Culture Week is a nationwide cultural event held every third week of October to widely promote Hanbok, which embodies our beauty and tradition, and to spread the culture of wearing Hanbok in daily life. The slogan is Modern Hanbokpan, the Center of K-Culture. Organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and hosted by the Korea Craft and Design Foundation, it showcases a variety of Hanbok cultural programs such as fashion shows, performances, awards for Hanbok wearers, and hands-on experiences at major venues across the country, establishing itself as a cultural festival that anyone can enjoy with over 330 participating locations nationwide this year. Additionally, through special events at overseas locations such as Hong Kong, New York, and Berlin, it shares the beauty of Hanbok with the world, and provides opportunities to enjoy Hanbok more closely through the 'Characters Wearing Hanbok' online campaign and art balloon exhibitions utilizing six mascot characters from local governments. Like the slogan of the 2025 Hanbok Culture Week, 'Modern Hanbokpan', it is hoped that this will be a meaningful time to share the beauty and value of Hanbok in today's blossoming of Korean culture.
