About the festival
The 2026 Korea Science Festival with Jeonbuk Science Festival is a science festival prepared for residents to directly experience the future industry of Jeonbuk, 'Physical AI'. The event will be held for three days from October 16 to 18, 2026, at Jeonju University Main Stadium and Harim Mission Hall. Under the theme 'A Moving World, Opening a New Future with Physical AI!', the event is designed to allow participants to experience AI not limited to screen technology but through technologies that move and operate in the real world, such as robots and sensors. In connection with the Korea Science Festival, the event involves participation from the National Science Museum, excellent research institutions outside the province, universities, etc., and aims to expand opportunities for residents to enjoy science and culture. Research achievements in advanced science and technology fields such as AI, bio, energy, and mobility will be provided as experiential content tailored to the level of children, youth, and general residents. Additionally, in collaboration with the Jeonbuk Provincial Office of Education, local elementary, middle, and high schools will directly operate experience booths, creating participatory science festival events for visitors. Key programs include the opening ceremony, awards for the Jeonbuk Science and Technology Award and Student Science Invention Award, themed exhibitions, science and technology experiences, and performances. The event is hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT, Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province, and Jeonbuk Provincial Office of Education, and organized by the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity, Jeonbuk Technopark, and Jeonbuk Science Culture Center.
