About the festival
The Jeonju International Picture Book Fair (JIPF) is a representative picture book cultural festival of South Korea that communicates with the world through picture books that have emerged as global content. It is a special festival where you can appreciate the original works of famous domestic and international authors up close every year, inviting a guest country each year to focus on introducing the works of world-renowned picture book authors representing that country alongside Korean picture book authors. The 5th fair will feature Taiwanese author 'Jimmy Liao' and South Korean author 'Gimdong' from October 2 (Friday) to October 4 (Sunday), 2026, at the Hanguksorimunhwaui Center exhibition hall under the theme 'Picturing the Memories.' During the festival period, there will be an opening ceremony, book exhibitions and lectures by domestic and international authors, a book market with participating publishers, and a debut exhibition to nurture emerging local authors. In addition, various performances and experiential programs using books, as well as conferences, will enrich the event. Furthermore, the exhibition of original picture book illustrations will continue until October 25 (Sunday), 2026.
