A Book Festival for the Whole Family

About the festival

The Whole Family Book Festival is a signature reading and culture festival organized by the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education. It has been held every autumn at Jeongdok Public Library since 2013. The festival creates a space where families and neighbors can connect and communicate through books, and is designed to let people experience the joy and value of reading in everyday life through a variety of hands-on activities, performances, and exhibitions. In particular, it has grown into a collaborative festival, with diverse organizations—including libraries and lifelong learning centers, local bookstores, and school reading clubs—working together to run programs in which citizens and students participate directly. A wide range of activities are offered for all ages, including an awards ceremony celebrating families who read together, cultural performances, creative book-related activities, and eco-friendly and traditional culture experiences. This meaningful event makes reading more than a simple activity, offering an opportunity to discover the joy of everyday life and the value of community.
