About the festival

The Sejong Falling Flower Festival is a festival that reinterprets traditional culture in a modern way based on our city's intangible heritage, 'Sejong Buddhist Falling Flower Method (designated on February 13, 2024)'. It is a special nighttime tourism festival where the natural beauty of the lakeside park blends with the urban landscape. When the falling flower pole is lit, the sound of crackling fire and the sparks scatter like flower petals, beautifully coloring the night forest. The falling flower tradition originated from our unique traditional rituals performed to drive away negative energy and wish for blessings during Buddhist lantern festivals, the first full moon of the lunar year, Dano, and the full moon in July. Visitors can enjoy the scene of sparks scattering from the falling flower pole hanging on a pine tree while relaxing by the fire or walking along the park's trails.
