About the festival

The 18th Seoul Architecture and Culture Festival 2026 aims to rediscover the unique architectural and urban charm of Seoul with the theme 'Discovering Seoul: Assembling Seoul' together with its citizens. Seoul creates creative possibilities based on 'Bokhapmil-do', which combines the history, culture, and locality of a high-density city. Additionally, it has continuously adapted through 'accelerated evolution', which quickly renews forms based on existing accumulations amid rapid social changes. Furthermore, it is expanding the urban experiences and values unique to contemporary K-architecture worldwide through 'glocality', which intersects local contexts and global trends. This year, the Seoul Architecture and Culture Festival will prepare various participation programs so that citizens can experience Seoul's architecture and city more closely and engage with architectural culture in a friendly manner. It aims to create a platform for discovering Seoul's architecture and developing K-architectural culture together with citizens through diverse citizen participation content, including an architectural culture forum with architects, a talk program and artwork tour with the winners of the 44th Seoul Architecture Award, and programs for young aspiring architects.
