About the festival
The 18th Seoul Architecture Festival 2026 aims to rediscover the unique architecture and urban charm of Seoul under the theme 'Assembling Seoul' in collaboration with its citizens. Seoul creates creative possibilities based on 'Bokhapmil-do', which combines the history, culture, and regional characteristics of a high-density city. Additionally, it has continuously adapted through 'accelerated evolution', which quickly renews forms based on existing accumulations amid rapid social changes. Furthermore, through 'glocality', it expands the unique urban experiences and values of contemporary K-architecture to the world by intersecting local contexts with global trends. This year, the Seoul Architecture Festival will provide various participation programs to allow citizens to experience Seoul's architecture and urban environment more closely and engage with architectural culture in a friendly manner. It aims to create a platform for discovering Seoul's architecture and developing K-architectural culture through diverse citizen participation content, including architectural culture forums with architects, talk programs and artwork tours with winners of the 44th Seoul Architecture Award, and programs for young aspiring architects.
