About the festival
The 2026 Dongdaemun-gu Book Festival is a reading culture promotion festival held to raise residents' interest in reading and contribute to the promotion of local reading culture in celebration of September's Reading Month. This year's festival features the theme 'Book Power - Open the Book, Move Your Body!' and will go beyond traditional static reading activities to offer various participatory reading culture programs that the whole family can enjoy, combining books and physical activities. At the Dongdaemun-gu Office Future Plaza, activities such as 'Reading Fitness' where participants read while moving, 'Reading with the Body' which enjoys traditional fairy tales through play, and an outdoor library where reading and reflection can be savored together will be operated. In the multipurpose auditorium, various booth experiences will be conducted, including 'Book Power Adventure Group', 'Challenge! Mini Sports Day at the Library', 'Reading Ability Health Check', and 'Dapsip-ri Motors', all organized by the Dongdaemun-gu Library Network. Additionally, various performances such as reading encouragement musicals, bubble shows, and busking tailored to children's perspectives will provide rich sights and enjoyable experiences for the audience.
