About the festival

The series "Position and Wrinkles" is a mixed-reality performance that mourns and remembers the lost and disappearing existence. Song Ju-won understands both human and non-human beings as living entities, and the loss of that existence·Extinction·Extinction·It seeks the possibility of a communal experience of shared mourning and memory with the audience, taking death as a fundamental issue. 'Position' is the space where entanglements of existence occur.·This is a place. 'Wrinkles' are the forms of existence that unfold and fold, the patterns of memories engraved in time, and the surfaces that the body touches and reads. The place and the wrinkles call to each other. The place embraces the wrinkles, and the wrinkles unfold the place. The pattern engraved in time at a single place is 'the wrinkles of the place', and the space where those wrinkles unfold is 'the place of the wrinkles'. The series passes through two axes. The first half revolves around 'the place of death' and 'the death of the place', where the audience disappears in time.·It is the time facing the disappearing wrinkles. The second half revolves around 'the place of memory' and 'the place of mourning', where 'the memory of wrinkles' and 'the mourning of wrinkles' arise through the entanglement of the audience. The audience becomes a player and performer traversing between augmented reality and virtual reality, crossing the physical and the virtual. The movements and interactions of the audience with virtual beings and among themselves weave the entanglement of mourning, caressing the wrinkles of existence and writing new memories.
