About the festival
Seocho-gu Outdoor Library "Yangjaecheoneul Pumeun Yangjae Library: A Picture Book Journey Along the Waterway" is an outdoor reading culture festival designed to allow experiences of books and cultural arts in the natural space of Yangjaecheon in the city. The event will be held from October 10 to November 8, 2026, every Saturday and Sunday for a total of 10 sessions in the forest path in front of Yangjae Library and the surrounding area of Yangjaecheon. Each week, various picture books will be introduced under the themes of 'Relationships, Emotions, Dreams and Growth, Healing, Nature', and it will feature an outdoor reading space where people can freely read books in nature, along with picture book exhibitions, experiential programs, performances, and family participation programs. Utilizing the characteristics of different locations such as forest paths, lawns, Yangjaecheon walking trails, and stair spaces, the reading and cultural arts programs are structured, expanding the traditional indoor library-centered reading experience into natural spaces. Anyone can participate, including families with children and citizens using Yangjaecheon, and through various programs linking books, nature, and cultural arts, they will be able to experience reading in their daily lives.
