About the festival

The Gochang Green Barley Field Festival is a representative festival of Gochang County, centered around the green barley fields, which are one of the major ecological resources of Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province. Since its first event in 2004, it has become a top destination for scenic agriculture in the country, attracting an average of about 300,000 visitors each year and creating a long history. The most beautiful period during the barley growth is known as the 'green barley' period. During this time, when the barley looks most fantastic, the green barley fields can be seen from mid-April to mid-May, covering about 770,000 square meters in the area of Hakwon Farm in Gongum-myeon, Gochang County.
