Giới thiệu lễ hội
Samrang Fortress, surrounded by Jeondeung Temple, is said to have been built by the sons of Dangun to prevent invasions by foreign enemies. During the Goryeo period, it was a place where the people fled to Ganghwadoro to escape the Mongol invasions, and from the fortress, they ignited the will to resist Mongol rule, holding the Great Buddha's Lecture for 120 days. It is also the place where the Annals of the Joseon Dynasty were kept for 250 years and the site of victory in the French expedition against Korea. Furthermore, it is also where the righteous army won a week-long battle against the Japanese during the late Joseon period. For 5,000 years, it has continuously interacted with our history and is a site of national pride that embraces our history. To feel and widely promote the pride of our glorious history, the Samrang Fortress Cultural Festival is held every year from the first Saturday of October, marking its 26th edition this year.
